DEMOLITION DERBY RULES
1 - All drivers must be 18 yrs of age or have a notarized permission slip
from parent or legal guardian.
2 - Any American car or station wagon allowed. NO Chrysler Imperials, Jeeps,
Trucks, Carryalls, or Convertible. NO Compact Cars in this class.
3 - No Diesel Engines
4 - Drivers may enter each heat, but must have a different car for each heat
5 - The same car must be used in the feature heat that you qualified with
and have the same driver,
NO EXCEPTION.
6 - All Drivers and Pit crew must sign a release form.
7 - All cars must be in 1 hour before start time
8 - All cars must be inspected and ready to derby by starting time. SO BE
HERE EARLY.
9 - Safety belts and helmets are required.
GENERAL REGULATIONS
1 - Drivers must maneuver forward and backward.
2 - No driver shall deliberately hit an opponents car HEAD ON OR IN THE
DRIVERS DOOR.
3 - NO playing possum, You must competitively hit a car every minute or you
will be disqualified.
4 - ABSOLUTELY NO TEAM DRIVING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
5 - All drivers must attend the pit meeting prior to derby.
6 - Officials have the right to disqualify any car at any time. Officials
decisions are FINAL.
7 - NO drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be allowed to
participate.
8 - ALL hoods will be opened or removed for inspection (BE PREPARED).
9 - TWO fires and you are out of that heat. Includes finals as well.
10 - ALL drivers must wear shirt and pants, Prefer racing type suit. NO
SHORTS.
11 - NO pregnant dog RULE.
12 - All people in the pit area are to stay OFF dirt mounds and track while
race is on.
CAR PREPARATION
1 - Slogans, advertising or printing may be place anywhere on the car, Put
the driver’s name above the numbers on both sides in large print, Number is
recommenced on the roof. NO PROFANITY !!!!
2 - All glass lights, chrome, trim, etc. MUST BE REMOVED.
3 - All carpet, headliners, and burnable materials MUST BE REMOVED.
4 - Bumpers and Fenders may be trimmed but NOTHING ADDED.
5 - Maximum size of gas tank shall be NO more than 5 gallons, and must be
moved to the back seat area and SECURELY FASTENED. NO GI CANS !!!!!!!
6 - NO electric fuel pumps unless you have an oil pressure shut off switch,
or clearly marked switch. PLEASE POINT IT OUT IN TECH LINE.
7 - Gas Line MUST BE SAFE LINE.
8 - Driver’s door can be reinforced, 6 inches in front of door and running 6
inches behind the door, 4 inch channel iron is suggested for door
protection. ABSOLUTELY NO GRADER BLADES.
9 - NO special bumpers, extra weight, trailer hitches, roll bars, special
lifts, air lifts, blocks, shackles or any other reinforcement except the
driver’s door. ALL helper springs shall be cut. All trunks must be empty of
all debris, spare parts, etc.
10 - Radiators and fans may be removed but not relocated. NOTHING heavier
than hail screen in front of radiators.
11 - The maximum frame height shall be 12 inches in the front and 13 inches
in the back, to be measured between the wheels.
12 - Mirror permitted rear view only.
13 - There must be a hole in the hood large enough for the use of a fire
extinguisher.
14 - All carburetors must have an air cleaner with filter
15 - No alcohol or ether systems.
16 - Transmission coolers are allowed but must be good hydraulic hose.
17 - No shocks or springs may be welded, the car MUST have bounce in the
suspension, NO SOLID SUSPENSION. The only exception is coil springs welded
at the base so they don’t fall out. Nothing else.
18 - BATTERIES: No more than 2 -12 volt passenger or light truck batteries
are allowed, all batteries must be fastened down securely and covered for
safety. NO HEAVY EQUIPMENT BATTERIES.
19 - TIRES: Mud and Snow passenger and light truck tires only. NO PADDLE OR
SOLID TIRES. No fork lift tires. Double tires are allowed.
20 - WHEELS: ALL wheels must be stock production type.
NO BEAD LOCK or SCREWED WHEELS!!!!!!!
21 - All decking in the rear of station wagons must be removed.
22 - All cars must have a vertical bar from the roof of the firewall for
driver’s protection.
23 - Horizontal bars behind the drivers seat (door to door) and horizontal
bar at cowl area will be allowed for safety.
24 - BODY MOUNTS: Body mounts may be replaced with a stack of washers or
etc. at least 1 inch thick. No added 5th mounts on station wagons, Bolts may
be replaced but with the same size bolt.
25 - HOODS: Maximum of 8 hood pins or bolts (2 Ready rod one on each side of
radiator and 1 inch in diameter maximum). DO NOT WELD HOOD SHUT.
26 - BUMPERS: May be welded on. No added metal is allowed to mount bumper.
No more than 2 chains or straps on front and rear bumpers. Straps may be 2
inches wide and no more than 1/4 inch thick. Straps on the front may not be
located in front of the radiator.
27 – CHAINS are allowed from frame to rear axle or wrapped around. Do not go
through the body. Do not weld chain to frame and do not bolt it threw the
frame.
28 - DOORS must be welded shut.
29 - TRUNKS AND TAILGATES: May be welded 6 inches and leave a 6 inch gap. (2
- 1 inch ready rod allowed).
30 - FRAME: NO added metal of any kind. NO straps from body to frame.
(Wagons or Sedans).
31 - Body SEAMS: May be welded but ONLY 6 inches and leave a 6 inch gap. Not
the frame. The only welding on the frame is the A-Arms forward on the top
seam only
32 - NOTHING BUT DOORS WELDED SOLID. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED !!!!!!
33 - #9 WIRE MAY BE USED IN 2 SPOTS. NO MORE THAN 3 WRAPS AND TWISTED IN A
CABLE FORM. Yes these two spots may go around the frame. The two spots you
pick are the only spots this will be allowed.
34 - Five 3/8 bolts allowed above wheels.
35 - OFFICIALS DECISIONS ARE FINAL. NO PROTESTS.
36 - NO pregnant dog RULE.
37 - TOP 5 CARS WILL BE REINSPECTED BEFORE PAYOUT.
Again no frame welding except A-Arms forward on top seam. Chains are allowed
from rear-end to frame. Do not go threw body with chains. Do not weld chain
to frame or do not bolt chain through the frame. Two straps allowed on front
of the car but not in front of radiator.
COMPACT
RULES
1. Cars will follow above rules.
2. Must have a 4 or 6 cylinder engine.
3. Must have a 106" wheel base or less.
4. Can weigh no more than 2600 lbs before stripping.
Sorry, frame welding is not accepted. If it doesn't tell you to weld it:
then don’t. This will save you and our crew much time and headaches. These
rules are clear and should not need much clarification. Should you have any
questions don't hesitate to contact us.
MINI VAN RULES
The mini van heat is open to men and women
who have a valid drivers license and 19 years of age, if 16 to 18 years
of age you must have notarized consent from parent/guardian.
In the interest and fairness to all contestants the following rules and
regulations shall prevail.
- Driver entry will be
$30.00 and pit passes will be $20.00.
- Vans shall be mini
vans no full size vans and no flat nosed vans (Toyota).
- Entries will be
accepted up to one hour prior to race time.
- Driver and pit
persons must sign waiver and release of liability prior to entering pit
area or arena.
- Drivers must attend
drivers meeting prior to race.
MINI VAN PARTICIPANT
REGULATIONS
There will be only one heat of mini vans. Drivers have one minute to hit
another active van. NO sandbagging and NO team driving. NO intentional
drivers door hits.
- All glass, chrome,
pot metal, lights, carpet, seats and headliner must be removed before
reaching the exhibit area.
- Slogans or
advertising may be put anywhere but on the front doors and roof, put
drivers number on front doors and on roof and put name above front doors
on roof (mandatory).
- Radiators and fans
may be removed but not relocated.
- Batteries must be
placed in a secure position. They must not move when shaken and must be
covered with something nonflammable.
- Bumpers and fenders
may be trimmed. NO full size or truck bumpers allowed.
- Doors maybe welded
solid. Back van door weld 1 inch leave 6 inches or wire or bolt.
- Gas tank must be
firmly secured in the back seat area. NO plastic gas tanks
- Cages can go to the
middle of the vans side door. CANNOT be hooked to the frame. A total of
3 bars going across allowed. One in dash area, one behind seat and one
in the middle of the side door. MANDATORY-one kicker allowed. Driver
side front only.
- Van must have a
least one bar attached to middle of the windshield area to prevent hood
from coming in. This maybe welded on.
- Hoods must be wired,
chained shut, if bolts are used you may use a maximum of 6 (six) 3/8
with washers no bigger than 6 inches outside diameter. NONE to frame
or in front of radiator.
- 4-ply tires only. NO
water in tires, NO tires screwed to rims, NO tire inside of tire.
- NO extra weight, NO
trailer hitches, NO special lifts, blocks, shackles. Air lifts and air
shocks must be deflated
- Safety belt and DOT
approved helmet required. Long pants and shirt mandatory.
Do not do anything
other than what is stated in these rules. This is a stock class and it's
going to stay that way. No pit persons allowed in the arena. NO alcoholic
beverages or drugs allowed. If any changes are made after inspection to
make your van illegal you will be disqualified and no refund of entry. Any
protest must be made no later than 5 minutes after van heat. Judges
decision is final. Vans can be re-inspected at anytime.
Mandatory open hood inspection do not nine
wire your hood before you get there or you will be cutting this off
